Is not it wonderful how phoenix luxury handbags Valentino has evolved since the brand changed hands to the current Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli in 2008? The brand has always been impeccable female under Monsieur Valentino, of course, but after a few post-transition hiccups on the way to greatness, Chiuri and Piccioli have turned it into something altogether lighter, younger. The bags also have achieved a beautiful simplicity that only comes with confidence and focus during the design process.
Naturally, you will find a lot of Rockstud in Valentino Spring 2013, but with a line that continues to sell very well and seems to be just gaining popularity, it would be unwise to Valentino to go in a different direction yet. For those of you who do not dig the Rockstud (all four of you), the collection also contained many elegant clutches and evening bags without nails. (Still, however. Rockstuds The are where you are.) Congratulations, Valentino. This is easily one of the best collections of phoenix luxury accessories of the season.

In 2012

Now that shows officially closed for the season and all the bags were seen (by us, anyway - we still have a few more posts for you), I feel comfortable saying that Spring 2012 is probably going to be a bit of a boring season for accessories, at least compared with what we used to lately. That said, some of the most important designers who have been struggling to find their voices intensified it this season, at least when bags are concerned.
Valentino Spring 2012 is a collection of such, I did a lot of complaining about the brand Fall 2011 runway bags, but this group is much more refined and well-conceived than previous lines have felt. Some of the elements of last season, including hand straps with nails, can be found in these projects, but they are used in ways that feel more natural and functional. This is the collection that Valentino should have showed last season, but I'm glad they decided to show phoenix luxuries it to everyone.
